What Courses Do I need in Texas to Be a Real Estate Appraiser?
In the state of Texas all you need is an appraisal course that consists of 75 total hours of course work. This course work can be done 100% online if you choose or you can take the courses at a live school. We recommend the online method so you can plan the course around your current work schedule. With only 75 hours of coursework you’ll complete the course in no time. Typically schools will sell 3 small courses that make up the 75 hours needed. The first course will be your basic appraisal principles course consisting of 30 hours. The second course that all appraisers must take it called USPAP which stands for Uniform Standards of Professional Appraisal Practice. This course is more of an ethics type course and is only 15 hours long. The third short course is called Appraisal Procedures which is also 30 hours.
