The state of Mississippi, according to
Mississippi Licensure Law, Chapter 71, enacted
in 2001, requires all Home Inspectors to be

is the governing body and is given
responsibility for receiving and approving
applications, for working with the Home
Inspector Advisory Board, drafting and/or
adopting a code of ethics and standards of
practice, and developing applications and forms.
The Home Inspector Regulatory Board, a five
person entity, serves in an advisory capacity to
the Commission, conducts investigations into
wrong doing or unethical practices and doles out
the appropriate discipline.
