The Oklahoma Home Inspection Licensing Act,
Section 858-622 of Title 59, enacted in 2001
sets forth the requirements for obtaining a
license as a Home Inspector. The State Board of
Health, as well as the appointed Committee of
Home Inspector Examiners will, acting in
concert, establish rules, renewal requirements,
standards of practice, approval of schools, etc.
In order to become licensed in the state of
Oklahoma:br />
You must be at least 18 years of age.
You must successfully complete at least 50
hours of Home Inspection training, or its
equivalent as established by the Committee.
You must take and pass the NHIE, National Home
Inspector Examination.
You must also provide a certificate of
insurance for General Liability Insurance in the
amount of at least $50,000.00.
License renewal is annually and requires at
least five (5) hours of Continuing Education
(CE) during the previous 12 months.
