Prelicense Requirements for Salesperson
In order to receive your license in Alabama you need to complete a 60 clock hour course approved by the Alabama Commission. You must take the salesperson’s exam within 12 months of course completion and you need to be 19 years of age or older. It is a requirement that you have a high school diploma or GED and receive a passing grade of 70% on the state test.
Broker Requirements
If you are already a Alabama real estate salesperson and would like to become a broker you need to complete a 60 clock hour course approved by the Commission plus you must hold a salesperson’s license for 24 of the 36 months prior to your application for your broker license. You’ll need to take the state exam and score a 70% or higher to become a broker.
Continuing Education Requirements
Every two years a total of fifteen clock hours of continuing education approved by the Commission is required for renewal of an active license. For the fifteen hour continuing education course requirement you must take 3 clock hours in Risk Management and 12 hours in approved elective courses. All real estate licensees are renewed on August 31st of each year.
Post License Requirements
You will need to complete 30 hours of post license courses for salespersons within the first six months of receiving your license. The course does require a proctor and you must receive a final exam grade of 70 or higher. administered by computer at 4 AMP Assessment Centers in
