South Carolina Real Estate License
To become a real estate salesperson you must be at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED. You’ll need to complete 60 hour of course that were approved by the state and pass the course. You will need to take a state exam and pass and be placed in a provisional status for 1 year in which that time you need sponsorship from a licensed broker.
For a Brokers License in South Carolina
You need to be 21 years of age or older, unlike the 18 needed as a salesperson. You still need to have a high school diploma or GED. All brokers will need to take 150 hours of courses and be active as a licensed salesperson for at least 3 full years. If you have a license from another state South Carolina has reciprocity with North Carolina, Georgia, Kentucky and West Virginia.
Real Estate Licensees are required to obtain eight hours of continuing education every two years. The eight hours shall include a minimum of two hours of instruction in current federal and state laws affecting brokers and salesmen (core courses).
