At LA College, our mission is to provide you
an education that prepares you to become an
entrepreneur. Whether you wish to start your
own business, or improve your ability to
make significant contributions to a family
business or an employer's operation, our
18-month business management program
emphasizing entrepreneurship principles will
provide you with the hands-on education you
need. You'll learn management concepts from
professionals who've been successful in the
business world. Rather than simply relying
on chalkboard theories, you'll be presented
with real-world examples, presented by
experts who've been there and done that.
You'll get started with the fundamentals of
entrepreneurship, getting your creative
juices flowing while exploring your business
passion. Over the course of the program,
you'll complete a core curriculum of
business-focused classes and continue
throughout the program to build on your
business plan. Courses in management,
marketing, business law, finance and
accounting allow you to focus on a specific
aspect of your plan and explore that topic
in more detail. In addition, you'll spend
significant time on your area of
concentration, working with instructors who
have the experience to advise you on your
plan. At the end of the program, you will
have a comprehensive and well thought out
business plan that's been critiqued by your
peers, your instructors and industry
professionals. It's then time to get out and
move on to becoming an entrepreneur.
An Innovative Education
Your entrepreneurship degree is
fundamentally different from a pure business
management degree, since the program you'll
complete emphasizes experiential learning
and prepares you to start and manage your
own business. Our courses focus on
recognizing opportunities, entering markets,
protecting intellectual property, financial
planning and understanding how to navigate
the legal requirements of conducting a
business.
