The Bachelor’s program usually starts out as a four-year degree. The student will take all the general education and foundation courses in the first two years. These consist of English Comp, English Literature, Social Sciences, Mathematics and more general studies classes. The emphasis area classes consist of business strategies, financial information, financial ethics, and economic strategies, among others. These general and emphasis area classes prepare the student with real life situations and teach them to use them in ever changing situations. They also prepare the student for more focused classes in the 3rd and 4th years.

For those who have already earned their Associate’s degree, they will enter what is usually known as an “Advance Start” degree program. This means you have already completed the first two years required for the BA so you do not need to repeat it. A person who enters this program will start school already in the 3rd year. This goes for anyone who has earned an AA and is continuing right on to the BA or even if they have been out of school for a few years.

The Bachelor of Arts in Accounting’s 3rd and 4th years consist of a core curriculum of classes with concentration in Accounting and Business Finances. These core emphasis areas will teach students how to use critical thinking through exposure to the different and ever changing business disciplines as well as focus more on accounting training practices. The students will also learn how to apply different management, organizational, statistical, financial and economical disciplines to real-time workplace situation.

The major core courses, such as Principles of Economics, Principles of Accounting, Business Information Systems and Business and Marketing Law, will lead the student down the financial learning path of success while letting them apply the knowledge they have learned in the real world.
