Home Health Aid Personal Training Information
Instead of going into the hospital or into an elderly home more people are opting into home health so they can stay at home and near their loved ones. Doing a move into a retirement home can be extremely upsetting to many and this option is sometimes seen as a better way to live out your years. Now being an aide doesn’t always mean dealing with the elderly as many couples find themselves dealing with small children that have a disability and can’t provide proper care or have time.

Every case is different but some health aides do laundry, change bed linens and even cook. The position is more of that of a nanny than a health provider but you will need to have the proper training depending on the situation you are in. Many care givers are in charge of bathing, dressing, grooming and setting up doctor’s appointments.

So what do you need to get started in this field? The first thing you’ll need is a comprehensive course from an accredited school. We recommend any national accredited school such as those approved by the DETC – Distance Education Training Counsel. Once you have found a few schools you can request information so you can see which program has what you want. Some offer great payment plans so be sure to do your homework. Check your local laws before you enroll as some states might require your home health aide certificate to consist of a certain amount of hours.

Certified Home Health Aide Education
No question, one of the hottest areas of job growth for the future will be in the field of healthcare. As baby boomers age, and the young people from Generation X begin to have families, the need for qualified healthcare professionals will sky rocket.

Clearly, jobs in healthcare are ones that will bring plenty of job security. Other benefits include good pay, the opportunity to help and care for others, and usually excellent benefits like insurance and retirement plans.

Additionally, with these jobs in such great demand and a shortage of trained professionals, those individuals that DO have the training will have an incredible amount of choice in where they choose to live and work, and can really have their pick of jobs.

Obviously not everyone can go to medical school to become a physican, as not everyone has the financial resources or the time to invest in such a career. However, many wonderful jobs in healthcare can attained with less years of training. Physician's Assistants, Certified Nurse Midwives, and Advanced Nurse Practitioners can find excellent paying and rewarding jobs after attaining a Master's Degree after they finish their Bachelor's Degree, usually in a science or nursing field.

These advanced practitioners work under the supervision of a Medical Doctor and are able to diagnose and treat patients, order diagnostic tests, and prescribe medications. They can do very minor surgical procedures in clinics as well. These mid level practitioners are less expensive to see than a full fledged MD, and can treat many minor conditions for adults and children, and take care of women's health issues such as PAP smears, yearly exams, and ordering mammograms. For more complicated patients, they will need to be referred to an MD or even a specialist.

Certified Nurse Midwives can deliver babies, and unlike midwives with less training, usually do the delivery at the hospital. A physician is always on backup in case the need for a Caesarean section arises. Certified Nurse Midwives cost less to the patient and for a routine delivery with a healthy patient, there are generally no complications. Again, a physician will be standing by to deal with any complications.

Nursing, in particular is a very in demand job, and there is a severe nursing shortage in our country. Jobs for RN's with a four year degree offer excellent pay and the opportunity to work in hospitals, as travel nurses, or administrative nurses. However, a four year degree is not necessary to get started in nursing. One can become a Licensed Practical Nurse in two years and work in a clinic, doctor's office, or hospital. If you can not devote two years to study, home healthcare aides are one of the jobs hardest to fill right now. You can take a course to become a Certified Nursing Assistant and be trained in a very short time and go right to work either in home health, or again in a clinic or hospital.

The field of healthcare offers many wonderful job opportunities and is not limited to nursing or nursing-type jobs. There are many other programs that can be completed in two years or less and can lead to well paying jobs with good job security.
